Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy Yoga is available for soon to be mothers in 1:1 sessions.

Scarlett can come to you (with props provided) to offer you a personalised Pregnancy Yoga session to help benefit you in your pregnancy journey and prepare you for the birth of your child.

What happens in a Pregnancy Yoga with Scarlett?

Each session, Scarlett will begin with a check-in, to see how mum and baby are doing and feeling. This will be followed by an asana (posture) practice, that includes helpful birthing positions, pain-relieving techniques and calming and restorative postures. The movement part of the class will also include pranayama (breathing exercises), chanting and a little bit of a dance.

If the mum chooses, the class will end with a Yoga Nidra, which means 'Yoga Sleep'. This practice involves a student lying down (or sitting) in a comfortable position with props and blankets (provided by Scarlett). Scarlett would then speak to mum and baby for the duration of the session, putting mum in a state between being awake and asleep, giving them a deep rest with visualisation, the chance to connect with the baby and leaving them feeling refreshed.

Can I do it if I haven't done yoga before?

If a student hasn't done yoga before, they needn't worry. This practice is suitable for all women from all walks of life.

At what stage in my pregnancy can I do the practice?

It is recommended to start from 14 weeks of their pregnancy. At this point (hopefully) bodies should be more in-tune with the huge hormonal shifts that happen during the first trimester.

Do I need to provide anything?

Scarlett will be providing bolsters, blocks, blankets and mats, so you don't need to provide anything (unless of course you have your own mat). It is recommended you have water available and anything you may want to eat. Perhaps she may want a cup of tea sometimes!
